In textile manufacturing, those processing operations performed on greige fabric, coloured fabric, textile yarns or fibres to ready them for Dyeing with controlled shrinkage is called PFGD (Prepared for Garment Dyeing). For example, typical greige cotton fabric preparation includes singeing, desizing, scouring, bleaching and (optionally) mercerising and Sanforizing.
